Frequently
asked questions answered honestly
Q) So what is different about a Broadclose Holiday?
A) Put simply its quality and location of the property. If you want spacious, contemporary accommodation with high quality furnishing, original artwork and all of the fittings and convenience you’d expect in your own home then this if the holiday home for you.
With its own parking space, situated a couple of minutes walk from Morrisons supermarket, the Splash swimming pool and Harlequinns leisure centre (bowling, karting, softplay area) it’s ideally located for you holiday entertainment and provisions. Bude Town centre shops, restaurants and the local beaches are only a short walk or drive away.
Q) What is including in the letting price?
A) Included in the price of your holiday will be all bedding and linen, towels (bath & hand per guest), tea towels and bath and W.C. mats. These will all be changed on a weekly basis. On arrival you will receive a welcome pack including a chilled complimentary bottle of wine, bread, milk, tea, coffee, soap and toilet rolls. All utility costs such as hot water, electricity and heating. The fully fitted kitchen includes built in Fridge/Freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, cooker and hob. A Dualit kettle, toaster and hand whisk and a Tassimo coffee machine. All the utensils you will need to cook your own meals. In the Lounge there are two comfortable settees, a 32” Sony LCD TV with Freeview and a Panasonic home theatre surround sound system. Upstairs the bedrooms are furnished with Nolte loft style beds and large mirrored wardrobes. The twin room includes a Sony 15” LCD TV also with Freeview.
Q) What about pets, young children and smoking?
A) Unfortunately we do not allow pets. Young children
and babies are welcome but you will need to bring your
own travel cot, high chair etc. Smoking is not allowed
inside the house, however we are happy for you smoke in
the garden providing you clear away any smoking related
litter.
Q) When can we visit?
A) Please check availability on our website and contact
us to book. Our changeover day is Saturday and we allow
five hours for the property to be fully serviced between
rentals. So the outgoing customer will be expected to
leave by 10.00am at the latest and you can gain access
from 3.00pm onwards.
Q) What if we have to cancel our holiday?
A) We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance
at the time of booking your holiday. Many people have
some form of cover through credit cards, however please
check the policy before booking and make sure it covers
all that you'd expect. In the unfortunate event that you
are forced to cancel your holiday we will expect you to
pay the full balance of monies owing to us unless we are
able to re-let the property for the same duration and
rate. This may be possible but of course is not guaranteed
therefore cancellation insurance is the sensible option.
Q) What is so special about Bude
and the North Cornwall coast?
A) Bude is pretty coastal town set on the edge of the
Atlantic on Cornwall's north coast. There are many quality
restaurants and pubs in the town and nearby, with a good
selection of local shops to cater for all your needs.
With fantastic beaches and surfing there is plenty to
do for children and adults alike either in the town or
within a short distance. If you fancy venturing further
a field Clovelly to the north, Newquay, Padstow, Tintagel,
Boscastle and The Eden Project to the south are all worth
a visit and no more than 1.50hours away by car. There
are also many other attractions including theme parks
dotted around the area.
Q) How do we get to Bude?
A) By car depending on your preferred route you can either
leave the M5 at junction 27 (Tiverton) and take the A361/A39
or Leave the M5 at Junction 31 (Exeter) and take the A30/A3079/A3072.
Both will take circa 1.50 to 2.0 hours from the M5 Junction
27 depending on traffic.
By Rail Exeter has the nearest mainline rail station.
By Air flights from most UK airports are available into
either Exeter International Airport or Newquay Airport.
Car Hire or transfer to Bude by bus or taxi can be arranged
from all three locations.
Q) What is there to do in Bude?
A) Just in case you get bored of the beautiful sandy beaches
and stunning north Cornwall coastline scenery there is
surfing, kayaking (sea or canal), sailing, golf (links
or family), fishing, riding, bicycle trails or for the
more adventurous mountain boarding, plus so much more.
If you're feeling particularly energetic Bude sits on
the South West Coast Path National Trail which runs for
some 630 miles from Minehead to Poole.
Q) What if something goes wrong with the property?
A) We use a very professional Holiday Management company
who assign a local property manager. They will be your
contact in the event of an emergency or problem. We have
emergency cover for all of the major services which will
ensure a speedy response and hopefully resolution of the
problem in the event of a Gas, Water or Electrical fault.
If anything else stops working properly we will of course
endeavour to fix it as soon as possible. Your property
manager will escalate the issue o us if you are unhappy
with the speed of response or the way the problem has
been resolved.
Q) What do we have to do when we leave?
A) Under normal circumstances the property manager will
arrive at the property just before 10.00am to collect
the keys. If you wish to leave earlier or the property
manager is not available for some reason you will be given
the number to the key safe and asked to leave the keys
in the safe. You do not need to worry about cleaning or
getting rid of any rubbish as the property manager will
take of this. We would however
ask that you leave the property in a clean condition,
report any breakages and complete the feedback form before leaving.
